I’m Sarah Pflugradt, a Virginia-based Registered Dietitian!

I am a registered dietitian with 14 years of experience in clinical, outpatient, WIC, teaching, and family nutrition. I spent 6 years on active duty in the United States Air Force where my love of fitness and my introduction to healthy living started.

I earned my undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Fitness from the University of Missouri – Columbia (Go MIZZOU!), my dietetics degree through a coordinated program from Eastern Michigan University, my graduate degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from Colorado State University, and I am currently a doctoral candidate in Health and Human Performance at Concordia University – Chicago with a research emphasis on adolescent sports nutrition.

I am a mom of 3 sport-loving kids and my introduction to the world of youth sports nine years ago helped guide me on a mission to help parents and coaches navigate the world of sports nutrition for young athletes.

My goal is to help young athletes learn how to fuel properly using real food. Supporting their growth and development is and should always be the main goal of nutrition at this age. Only then can they fuel for performance.

I love to run and be outside any chance I get. I also love food. My food blog highlights healthy recipes that are good for the entire family. Check it out at Sarah Pflugradt Nutrition.
